Scholarships for Bangladeshi students in China: CSC and university awards
How scholarships for study in China are organised: the Chinese Government Scholarship, university and provincial awards, language needs and how to check the official calendar.

Quick answer: China offers several routes to funding: the Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC), scholarships from individual universities and some provincial or city awards. Each has its own application period, levels and rules, and the official calendar changes each year. Use the official CSC and university pages, and avoid anyone who charges a "selection fee".
We state no amounts or dates here, because we did not read the current official notices.
The main routes
| Route | How it works |
|---|---|
| Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) | A government-funded programme. Applicants usually apply through the official CSC online system and through a university or embassy route, depending on the category. |
| University scholarships | A Chinese university offers its own scholarship with its own application. Check each university's international office page. |
| Provincial or city awards | Regional governments or cities sometimes fund international students. The list changes. |
Levels offered can include bachelor's, master's and PhD. Which levels a programme accepts depends on the programme and the year.
Language
- Many courses are in Chinese; some are in English.
- If a course is in Chinese, you may need a language preparation year and a Chinese proficiency level. If in English, you need English proof.
- Check the language requirement on the course page before you apply.
How to prepare
- Choose your subject and level, then find the universities that teach it in your language.
- List the scholarship routes each university accepts.
- Read the official application calendar and mark every date.
- Prepare documents: passport, certificates and transcripts (translated if needed), study plan, recommendation letters, language proof, a medical form where asked.
- Apply early and keep copies. Some portals close before the end date if there are many applicants.
Mistakes to avoid
- Paying an agent for "guaranteed CSC". Official applications do not need a payment to a stranger. See scholarship scams and our fake offer guide.
- Applying for a course that has no scholarship route.
- Missing the language requirement.
- Copying one study plan for every university.
Main idea: choose the course, check which scholarship routes it accepts, read the official calendar, prepare your documents and apply early through official channels. See government scholarships for other countries.
